Mike Dunne - Longtime wine critic and competition judge visits MV
A lineup of plush and elegant red wines, which include a juicy and spicy 2005 Zinfandel, a hefty and firm Nebbiolo, and two inky and mouth filling Petite Sirahs, one from 2005, the other from 2006.

Aside from their shared oak backbone, each was individualistic, showing fully ripe varietal flavors without the intrusion of harsh tannins and hot alcohol. They are wines of mass and attack, but sculpted with grace and balance.

Mikes favorite: "My favorite was the Miller Vineyards 2005 Fair Play Sierra Moon Vineyards Syrah. The varietal routinely disappoints more than it delights, but this one was pure pleasure. It's a drinkable blockbuster, evocative of newly harvested cranberries and blueberries up front, smoked bacon fat, black pepper and coffee in the dark depths of it's long finish"
